Qinghai Lake Township, belonging to Haiyan County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located on the North Bank of Qinghai Province. It is connected with triangle town in the East, Gonghe County in the south, ganzihe Township in the west, and halejing in the north. It is 22 kilometers away from the county. The area is 863.73 square kilometers. In 2018, 3085 people registered residence.

In 1958, Qinghai Lake commune was established. In 1959, it was incorporated into ganzihe commune. In 1962, Qinghai Lake commune was established. In 1984, it was changed into Qinghai Lake Township. As of October 2019, there are five administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Qinghai Lake Township.

In 2011, there were 5924 mu of cultivated land in Qinghai Lake Township, 13414 livestock were on hand at the end of the year, the total output value of animal husbandry was 15.872 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 6366.7 yuan, an increase of 17% over the previous year.
