Cairima town

Cairima Town, belonging to Maqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Maqu County. It faces Ruoergai County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province in the East, qihama Township in the south, qiujima Township, ABA County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province in the west, and Azi animal husbandry experimental station and manrima Township in the north. The area is 670.88 square kilometers. In 2018, 5724 people registered residence.

Before 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Labrang monastery. In 1950, it was the seventh district of Xiahe County. In 1954, it was under the jurisdiction of Maqu administrative committee. In 1958, it merged with manima to form the qiaoke commune and became the second brigade. At the end of 1968, it was changed into cairima commune. In 1983, it was changed into a township. In 2018, the township will be changed into a town. In June 2020, cairima town governs five administrative villages.

In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in cairima town.

Historical evolution

Before 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Labrang monastery.

Cairima town is located in the South Bank of the first bend of the Yellow River. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East. The north and South are gentle and mostly swampy. Except ouwumu and Shanliang, the town is flat. The main mountains are ouwumu, with the highest peak at 4024 meters above sea level and the lowest at 3432 meters above sea level.
