Diaoqi town

Diaoqi Town, belonging to Linxia County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the south of Linxia County, adjacent to Yinji town in the East, Taizishan in the southwest, Xiahe County in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and Maji town across Daxia River in the north. The area is 333.88 square kilometers. In 2018, 29543 people registered residence.

In 1952, it belonged to Maji district. In December 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, with Maji township as the Central Township. In 1958, Longquan Township and Landa Township were merged into Diaoqi township. At the end of the year, Linxia county was abolished and Maji commune was subordinate to Linxia city. In May 1961, Diaoqi commune was established. At the end of the year, the organizational system of Linxia county was restored and it was subordinate to Linxia county. In 1983, it was renamed Diaoqi township. In June 2020, Diaoqi town governs 12 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 4 industrial enterprises in Diaoqi town and 2 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In 1952, it belonged to Maji district.

In December 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, with Maji township as the Central Township.

In 1958, Longquan Township and Landa Township were merged into Diaoqi township. At the end of the year, Linxia county was abolished and Maji commune was subordinate to Linxia city.

In May 1961, Diaoqi commune was established. At the end of the year, the organizational system of Linxia county was restored and it was subordinate to Linxia county.

In 1983, it was renamed Diaoqi township.

By the end of 2011, Diaoqi town had 12 villagers' committees, including gagou, Longquan, zhuanzui, Gaga, Da, Tiejia, Youhao, Yangzhuang, Duoma, duozhiba, Weichang and Dagou, and 120 villagers' groups.

In June 2020, Diaoqi town governs 12 administrative villages: Longquan Village, zhuanzui village, Biega village, Landa village, Tiejia village, gagou village, Youhao village, Yangjiazhuang village, Duoma village, duozhiba village, Weichang village and Dagou village. The town people's government is stationed in gagou village.
