Nanshi town

Nanshi Town, subordinate to Xingping City, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the north central part of Xingping City. It borders Nanwei town and Dianzhang street of Xingping City in the East, Xicheng street and Dongcheng Street in the south, Mawei street of Xingping City in the West and Shide town of Liquan County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 12.1 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 10.3 km, with a total area of 50.4 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, Nansha Town has 14 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. As of 2018, the population of the registered residence in South Town was 37942. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Nansha Town was about 180 million yuan, the total industrial output value was 64 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 4.6 million yuan.

Historical evolution

It got its name from the people's Government of Nanshi village.

In 1949, the Baojia system was abolished in Xingping, and nine districts were set up under the jurisdiction of Qianfeng district (the Fourth District) as Nanshi township.

In 1958, Nanshi township was abolished and changed into Sanhan commune. In December of the same year, it was changed into Nanshi commune.

In 1984, it was changed to Nanshi township.

In 1998, it was changed to Nanshi town.
