Geji town
Geji County in Ali Prefecture governs towns and is the seat of the county people's government, the county people's Congress and the county Party committee. Formerly known as bangba District, it was removed from the district to establish a town in 1999 and officially moved to the county seat in 2003. It covers an area of 12130.36 square kilometers and a land area of 11765 square kilometers. Town government resident Napu neighborhood committee. Geji County governs one town and four townships: Geji Town, xiongba Township, yare Township, Chaka Township and wenbudangsang township. There are 53 administrative villages.
Geji county is located in the west of Tibet, the source of Shiquan river. It covers an area of 12130.36 square kilometers. The grassland area is more than 40000 square kilometers, and the cultivated land area is more than 300 mu. Geji is basically a pure animal husbandry county. It mainly raises Tibetan sheep, as well as a small number of yaks, yaks, cattle, horses, donkeys, mules and goats.
In 1989, the first solar power station in China was built, which is in good use. Wind power is being tested.
Special products are mainly plateau animal products and plateau fish. Geji County, built at the foot of the mountain, is a quiet town, and also the most beautiful and tidy County in Ali Region. As it is only 110 kilometers away from Shiquan River, there are not many people staying here. There are also telecommunication services, which can make mobile phones and long-distance calls.
Napo is the political and cultural center of the county. Founded in 1978, it covers an area of 5 square kilometers, and now governs three communities with a permanent population of 4955 (2017). It has one national advanced solar power station. Napo is a developing new town with Tibetan and Han styles.
There are more than 10 folk artists in the county. The larger temples are zhaxiqulin temple, zhaga temple and rezhirepu temple.
Geji means "beautiful and rich land" in Tibetan.

Bamba district was established in April 1961. In 2001, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and Geji town was established. In 2000, the permanent population of Geji town was 3252 (Wupu). Basic information
The resident population was 4955 (2017). The economy is dominated by agriculture and animal husbandry, with the largest agricultural spot in the county and rich mineral resources such as gold. The total output value of agriculture and animal husbandry is 6.811 million yuan, and the annual per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen is 2 045 yuan. There are sports ground, cooperative medical clinic. Zhaxi Qulin temple is the largest temple in the county. in the old days, there were seven tribes in Geji County, including the Geji tribe. Together with other tribes in northern Tibet, they were called the 18 districts of northern Tibet, and they were under the jurisdiction of aligaben.
In August 1960, seven tribes were merged to establish Geji county. In the spring of 1962, the county was officially located in Napo. The county government is now in Geji town. physical geography
The county is located in the great lake basin of Qiangtang plateau, with an average altitude of more than 4800 meters, known as "the roof of the world". The mountains are towering. There are 11 peaks with an altitude of more than 6000 meters and 23 peaks with an altitude of more than 5000 meters. Zhilongla peak, the highest peak, is 6380 meters above sea level. in the southwest, there are Gangdise mountains and Gangrenboqi peak, with an altitude of 6656 meters; in the southeast, there are dinglariju mountains. There is Wuri mountain in the northern part of the territory, with an altitude of 5580 meters. Duozari mountain is 4618 meters high, jibusang mountain is 5130 meters high, Gala mountain is 4878 meters high in the East, and zhongrizongqingshan mountain is 5888 meters high in the southeast. In the west, there are sengezangbo River and Shiquan river which flow from east to west and from north to South; in the southwest, there are shenglazangbu river which flow from east to west; in the middle, there are xiangqu river which flow from north to South; in the south, there are zagongqu river which flow from East to west; in the East, there are amazangbo river which flow from east to west. in the north of the territory, there are rebangcuo lake, caobuza lake and nawucuo Lake; in the middle, there are nieercuo lake, sekazhi lake and chalico Lake; in the southwest, there are scared sarcuo Lake; in the south, there are junmachuo lake and aercuo lake. It belongs to the plateau sub cold arid climate zone. Sufficient sunshine, short frost free period, strong wind and cold, 19 days of rain and snow. The main natural disasters are drought, wind, snow, hail and so on. Snow disasters usually occur once every four years. Droughts occur in varying degrees almost every year. Wind disasters mostly occur from February to April.
Economic overview
In the first half of 2004, Geji County continued to broaden the channels for farmers and herdsmen to increase their income, making the masses achieve 5.344 million yuan, an increase of 2.5 times over the same period of last year. Among them, 2.742 million yuan was generated by labor export; 570 thousand yuan was generated by the implementation of "two white and one yellow" county economic strategy; 492 thousand yuan was generated by characteristic products; 900 thousand yuan was generated by livestock sales; 640 thousand yuan was generated by intermediary services. Geji County, where the location advantage is not obvious, has the ambition of developing characteristic economy.
