Maru township is located in Baqing County, Naqu City, Tibet, covering an area of 900 square kilometers.

Baqing County governs the township. It is located in the north of the county (part of its jurisdiction is in Zaduo County, Qinghai Province) and adjacent to zase town in the south. The permanent resident population is 5915 (the sixth census in 2010). It has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages. The township government and villagers are stationed in zaqinda village.
Historical evolution
The township was established in 1960 and the commune was changed in 1971. In 1988, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged with Laina Township and zaqian township to form Maru township (Maru township). In 1996, with a population of about 4000, Maru township has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages, namely gaiyingai, Barong Gai, duolonggai, Longqing, Quzhong, zaqianduo, penlong, Dasha, riasaitong, gangqing, Nianqing, zaqinda, Lunbo Daxiong, bakonduo, qibaodiduo, Zada, Puyin and gejiaka.
