Jitang town

Chaya County of Changdu City governs the town. Located in the north section of Hengduan Mountains in the northwest of the county, 59 kilometers away from yanduo town. Jitang means "dam of ease and beauty" in Tibetan.

The total area is 535.92 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee, 10 village committees and 29 natural villages. The town government is located in the neighborhood committee of Jitang town. Population 4482 (2017). Jitang has a mild climate and sufficient light. It is rich in apples, pears, peaches, walnuts, prickly ash, etc. it is suitable for the growth of various fruits and vegetables, highland barley and other crops. It is a typical farming and animal husbandry town. There are iron, manganese, phosphorus, tin, copper, zinc and other mineral resources, in addition to hot spring geothermal resources, forest resources, water resources and fishery resources. The famous Zhuoma hot spring is a local tourist attraction. Jitang town is located in national highway 214, which is the only way to pass through the south line of Sichuan Tibet highway, Yunnan Tibet highway to Changdu and Lhasa to Changdu.
