Latuo Township

Latuo township is located in the southwest of Gongjue county. The township government is located in Latuo village. Latuo township was set up in 1959, changed into commune in 1974, restored to township in 1984, and merged into zongba Rome Township in 1988. It is 4288 meters above sea level and 84 kilometers away from the county seat. It is the triangle junction of Mangkang, Chaya and Sanyan offices. It is one of the two pure animal husbandry townships in Gongjue County, with an average altitude of 4500 meters and an annual rainfall of 425 mm. The rainfall is mainly concentrated between may and October. The annual sunshine time is 2700 hours, and the potential of solar energy development and utilization is great.

The total number of livestock is 37795, including 14070 cattle, 1215 horses and 22150 sheep. The township has a grassland area of 694665 mu, a utilized area of 692730 mu, and a net fence area of 3500 mu.

Scenery

The plateau meadow wetland in Latuo township is the largest wetland in the county. In spring and autumn, there are rare birds such as grey crane, Red Crowned Crane and egret, and wild animals such as argali, blue sheep, red deer, Fox and wolf swim in the wetland. In particular, the Tibetan six character mantra on the cliff opposite the Dharma temple is not suitable. It is hard for human beings to write the font as high as several meters. It is clear that it is done by human hands. However, it is impossible to verify when and who did it. It is said that when Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty came to Tibet to have a rest, she swung her horse whip and wrote six Tibetan characters "Amani mani Hoo" on the hillside. Then she got on her horse and swung her whip to the West. I do not know how many years of wind and rain erosion, there is no trace of erosion, just like yesterday.

Latuo wetland in Latuo township is an important water conservation area in the tributary of Lancang River and the upper reaches of Maqu river. The wetland is rich in water and grass and has a good ecosystem.
