Mangda Township

Mangda township is located in the high altitude area in the northwest of karuo district. It is a semi farming and semi pastoral township. It is connected with shagong Township in the southeast, shangka Township in leiwuqi County across the river in the south, Xiangqing County in Qinghai Province in the northwest, and Yoba Township and Ritong Township in the northeast. The average altitude is 3800 meters and 82 kilometers away from Changdu county.

By the end of 2011, Mangda Township had 11 administrative villages and 54 natural villages (villagers' groups) including Mangda, Xiqiang, baicuo, suotu, Weiri, Zuoba, Waluo, Dade, Zama, Modui and momei. the township covers an area of 454.04 square kilometers, with a total population of 3559 (2017). at present, there is one health center, one Township Center Primary School, one village level primary school and one teaching point, which are Tangka village primary school and momei village teaching point respectively. There is a small coal mine in nearby Zhama village, which has been exploited and utilized; a small power station was built in 1998; the Township resident schools, health centers, commerce and other infrastructure are complete.
