Located in the south of Jinping County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, it is adjacent to Jinhe town and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the East, Vietnam in the south, Mengla town and Vietnam in the west, and Jinhe town and Mengla town in the north. Across the river from Laizhou Province, Vietnam, the border is 126 km long and 38 km away from Jinping County. the highest altitude is 2320m, the lowest is 290m, and the height difference is 2030 M. The annual average temperature is 21 ℃ - 25 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 40 ℃, and the minimum temperature is 5 ℃; the annual precipitation is 1500-1800 mm, the climate is complex and diverse, the three-dimensional climate is obvious, and the dry and wet seasons are distinct, belonging to the subtropical and tropical monsoon climate. there are five perennial rivers: tengtiao River, Jinshui River, tengtiao River, Nanke River and Shaluo river.

The total land area of the town is 436.17 square kilometers, and the mountainous area accounts for 99%. In July 2019, the forest coverage rate of the town will be 38%. the rivers in the territory are not dry all the year round, with high source and large drop, so it is highly valuable to develop cascade hydropower stations. In the area, there are many animals and plants under the first and second level national protection, such as hirsute Polei, thousand fruit olive, Corbicula, red toon, bear, monkey, bison, tiger, etc. the discovered mineral resources include copper, nickel, tin, gold, lead, zinc, etc.

Population nationality

Miao, Yao, Dai, Hani, Yi, Lahu, Han and mang people are the indigenous nationalities. in 2008, there were 4139 households and 19081 people in the town, and the minority population accounted for 99.1%. In 2009, the National Commission for democracy and people's livelihood confirmed that the mang people belonged to the Bulang Nationality. The mang people originally lived in the deep mountains of Jinshuihe Town, Jinping County. They were descendants of the ancient Baipu ethnic group. In 2003, there were 651 people. In January 2016, the total population was only 746. In May 2017, there were 5389 households and 23275 people in the town, and the minority population accounted for 98.36% of the total population. In July 2019, the population of the town is about 24000, inhabiting Miao, Yao, Dai, Hani, Yi, Han, Zhuang, Lahu, Bulang and other nationalities.

Rice, corn and other grain crops are planted; tea, sugarcane, grass fruit, lingvanilla, grapefruit and other economic crops are planted. In 2007, the per capita net income of mang people in Jinshuihe town was only 489 yuan. In 2015, the per capita net income of mang people in Jinshuihe town was about 2800 yuan. In 2008, the financial revenue of the whole town was 2.77 million yuan, and the average wage of urban workers was 14353 yuan; the total income of rural economy was 52.01 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1818 yuan; the total grain output was 8.33 million kg, and the per capita grain of farmers was 420 kg. since 2013, Jinshuihe town has made great efforts to develop sugarcane industry. in 2017 / 2018, Jinshuihe town received 50000 tons of raw sugarcane, with an output value of 22.25 million yuan. By the end of 2018, there were 24200 mu of sugarcane in the town.

Infrastructure construction

There is a state-level port - Jinshuihe port, which is only separated by a river from Malutang port in Vietnam. In Jinshuihe Town, there are border markets in the three villages of Gejie, shangtianfang and Nanke. In 2008, the comprehensive poverty alleviation project of mangren in Jinping County began to be implemented. 12 projects including road access, water conservancy, electricity, housing, education and health were carried out in mangren villages in Jinshuihe Town, with an investment of more than 90 million yuan. on May 29, 2012, the manjin class II Highway from Manhua town of Gejiu City to Jinshuihe national port was put into trial operation. by June 2012, the construction of municipal infrastructure such as houses, roads and sites at Jinshuihe port has been improved, with a total investment of 23.0859 million yuan. in 2017, the comprehensive building reconstruction project of Jinshuihe health center in Jinping County was implemented, with an investment of 500000 yuan. from 2013 to 2018, 129 km of newly excavated roads and 98 km of original production roads were reconstructed and expanded in Jinshuihe Town, with an investment of 3.825 million yuan. in 2018, Jinshuihe town will improve its residential environment by installing solar street lamps, adding green potted plants, building new forest trails and demolishing illegal buildings, with an investment of 5.47 million yuan. in June 2019, Jinshuihe town has completed the renovation project of dilapidated houses, and the implementation of the project has enabled 1484 farmers to live in safe houses. In the past five years, nine new rural cultural and Sports Square and town cultural center have been built in Jinshuihe town.

Culture and education

In June 2017, there were 11 schools in the town, including 6 village center primary schools, 5 teaching points and 61 teaching classes. There are 2412 students in the school. The building area of the school is 22166.67 square meters. The enrollment rate of school-age children in primary schools is 100%; there are 3 kindergartens in the town, 4 attached preschool classes, 476 preschool children in Kindergarten (class), and the enrollment rate of three years before school is 48.56%; there are 115 teaching staff, including 10 new special post teachers. Among them, 29 have bachelor's degree, 72 have junior college degree, 13 have technical secondary school, normal secondary school and senior high school, and 1 below senior high school.

Honorary title

The women's militia class of Jinshuihe village, Jinshuihe Town, has won the first class collective merit in the battle of defending the motherland. The Central Military Commission and Kunming Military Region awarded them the honorary titles of "ten sisters of heroes" and "ten sisters model militia class of supporting the front" respectively.

History and culture

There are many ethnic festivals with unique regional characteristics, such as the couple Burmese Festival, the water splashing Festival, the flat rice Festival, the Huashan Festival, the torch festival and so on. the mang people in Jinshuihe town have been classified as Bulang people. They once lived a primitive tribal life. Before they came out of the primitive forest and settled down, they lived in high mountains and dense forests, living a life of slash and burn cultivation. They are the last primitive tribe in China. "Lailong" is a bamboo wind instrument unique to mang people. The main body is a bamboo pipe about one meter long. A small hole is chiseled near the mouth blowing position, and a bamboo blowing mouth is inserted. Through the mouth blowing air into the bamboo pipe, a melodious sound can be produced. In 2007, Chen Zixin, Longfeng village, Jinshuihe Town, was listed as the music inheritor of Honghe intangible cultural heritage (National Folk Traditional Culture).
