Wanbi township is located at the junction of two provinces, two prefectures, three counties and five townships. It is one of the six minority townships in Chuxiong Prefecture and the only minority Township in Dayao County. With its unique geographical location and strong ethnic customs, it has long been known as "xiaobanna in Yi Prefecture" and the hometown of "Qingge" and "Hongmei" in legend. The annual "woba Festival" and "international Yangtze River rafting Festival" have become a big stage for national integration and foreign exchange, attracting numerous businessmen, scholars and experts. On March 7 of the lunar calendar, the woba Festival (the Dai language means "fish gathering", namely the water splashing Festival), during which large-scale material exchange meetings, ethnic cultural performances and mass water splashing activities are often held, and dragon boat rowing, crossbow shooting and fish sacrifice activities are held along the Jinsha River, which is full of local charm. In the past two years, the "international Yangtze River rafting Festival" jointly organized with Panzhihua West District People's government has gradually cultivated a unique Jinsha River ethnic tourism route and become the second beautiful scenery of Wanbi Township through soul stirring speed rowing competition, exhibition and sale of ethnic crafts, bonfire carnival night and other activities.
