Mengmeng town
Mengmeng Town, located in the middle of Shuangjiang Lahu wa Bulang Dai Autonomous County, is the political, cultural, economic and trade center of the county. It borders mangnuo Township and Dawen Township in the East, Bangbing Township in the south, Menghe River in the west, Shahe Township in the north, Mengku town in the North and Mengku town in the south Linxiang district is adjacent to the city, with a vertical distance of 42 km from north to South and a horizontal distance of 15.5 km from east to west, covering an area of 421.96 square kilometers. History of construction
In the early Ming Dynasty (1382), Mengmeng was called mengyunyang, which means "Egret city" in Dai language. Ming Chenghua eight years (1472), renamed Mengmeng, under the jurisdiction of Gengma Tusi. Ming Shenzong 26 years (1599), under Yongchang house. In 1746, it was under the jurisdiction of the Department of Mianning. Qianlong 28 years (1764), change Li shunning (now Fengqing) jurisdiction. In 1904, the chieftain of Mengmeng was transferred to the four Pai mountains of Mianning Hall (now Lincang). In 1929, Shuangjiang County was established, and Mengmeng was the central district. In 1931, the name of Wei was changed from Fanghua district to Wei District according to the serial number. The county was divided into five districts, with Mengmeng as the first district. In 1940, Mengmeng was called Yongding town. in December 1950, the original town system was adopted. In 1953, Mengmeng was called the third district. In 1959, it was called Mengmeng Association. In September 1961, the three districts were renamed Mengmeng district. In 1969, it was called Weidong commune. In 1984, it was called Mengmeng district. In February 1988, Mengmeng district and Chengguan town were abolished and Mengmeng town was established. In 2005, the six townships of he were withdrawn and merged into Mengmeng town.

In December 1950, the people's Government of Shuangjiang County was set up. Mengmeng district is located in Dayi, with jurisdiction over 21 townships. In 1953, Mengmeng was divided into three districts, with jurisdiction over 13 townships. In January 1958, there were 13 small townships in the three districts and 6 townships. In 1959, the District Reform Association had jurisdiction over six administrative districts. In November 1983, 11 villages were designated as Chengguan towns. In February 1984, the rural management system was reformed and Mengmeng commune was abolished.

Mengmeng town is located in the central part of the county. The Tropic of cancer cuts the town into two parts. It is 42 km from north to South and 15.5 km from east to west, covering an area of 434.46 square kilometers.
