History of Luohe Yi nationality township
Hongta District has a long history and belongs to the ancient Dian state in the pre Qin period. In the second year of Yuanfeng (109 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Yuyuan County, Yizhou County, Jianning County in the Shu Han Dynasty, and Jinning County in the Jin Dynasty. In the Sui Dynasty, it was located in the west of the general manager's office of ningzhou. Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty belongs to Qiuzhou. In 760, Wenfu Prefecture was set up, belonging to Heyang County. With the establishment of Wenfu Prefecture, Hongta District of Yuxi City began to become an administrative unit at the state level in history. Dali was the rest Department of Heyang County. From the Yuan Dynasty to the 13th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1276), Xinxing Prefecture was established, which was subordinate to Chengjiang Prefecture and followed by the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was renamed Xinxing County, and the next year it was renamed xiuna county. In 1916, the name of Yuxi county was changed because Yuxi River "looks like a jade belt and its water is clear as jasper". On September 9, 1983, it was changed into Yuxi City (county level), which belongs to Yuxi district. On March 15, 1998, Yuxi district was abolished and Yuxi prefecture level city was established. The original county-level Yuxi City was changed into Hongta District.
