Jiuwuji Yi Township in Luoping County, located at the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou provinces, was established in March 1988 with a land area of 120 square kilometers. According to 2006 statistics, the total population is 10866, of which the Yi population accounts for 27.22%. The township is the most remote in the county, and it is also a famous water shortage township. Tobacco planting 7143 mu, output 1220000 kg, output value 18.5 million yuan; rape planting 2000 mu, output value 6.9 million yuan; ginger planting 3000 mu, output value more than 3 million yuan. The storage and sale rates of live pigs, goats, cattle and poultry increased significantly. The total meat output was 2604.4 tons, an increase of 17.5% over the previous year. 5000 mu of Chinese fir, 500 mu of pickled walnut and 1000 mu of prickly ash have been planted, and the forest and fruit industry has made great progress. The total output value of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery in the township was 86.91 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.5%. The main industries of the township are tobacco, rape, animal husbandry, grain, etc. In 2008, 6822 mu of flue-cured tobacco was planted in the township, with a total output of 1050 tons and a total output value of 13.65 million yuan; 14500 mu of rape was planted, with a total output of 2130 tons. In the whole year, 1854 large livestock, 9696 goats, 19553 pigs and fat pigs were put on the market. The total output of animal husbandry was 45.562 million yuan, with a total grain output of 4.132 million kg and a per capita grain output of 375 kg.
