Dabanqiao Street

Dabanqiao street is located in the northeast of Kunming City, Yunnan Province, 19 kilometers away from the city center. It covers an area of 380.4 square kilometers and has a population of 70349 (2010). It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages including Banqiao, Liqi, Xichong, Shagou, Fuxing, Huaqing, Changshui, Shajing, Xinfa, ADI, yiduoyun, Yunqiao, Baihanchang, ina, Wuxi, Xiaoshao, tuer, shangduilong and zhongduilong. Guiyang Kunming railway and Yunnan Guizhou highway pass through. There are Longquan Temple, white crane tower and Cuifeng temple.

Historical evolution

Banqiao Town in the Republic of China. It was the third district of Kunming County in 1950, the Sixth District of Kunming City in 1953 and Guandu District in 1956. In 1958, it belonged to Ala commune of Guandu District, Banqiao commune was established in 1961, Dabanqiao office was changed in 1984, Dabanqiao town was changed in 1988; Xiaoshao animal husbandry farm in Yunnan Province was transferred from Songming to Guandu District in 1958, Xiaoshao commune was set up in 1968, office was changed in 1984, and Xiaoshao township was changed in 1988. In 2006, Xiaoshao township was abolished and merged into Dabanqiao town. In 2009, Dabanqiao town was withdrawn and streets were set up.

In 1997, Dabanqiao town had an area of 163 square kilometers and a population of 32000; Dabanqiao town had 11 administrative villages including Banqiao, Liqi, Xichong, Shagou, Fuxing, Huaqing, Changshui, Shajing, Xinfa, ADI and yiduoyun; Xiaoshao Township had an area of 118 square kilometers and a population of 13000, and had 7 administrative villages including Baihanchang, Wuxi, tuer, shangduilong, zhongduilong, Yina and Xiaoshao. In 2006, Dabanqiao governed 19 administrative villages.
