Yaoshan Yao nationality township in Libo County governs six villages, including Gaoqiao village, Hongguang Village, Lapan village, Yingpan village, mushroom village and tongbie village, with 46 villager groups, a total of 1127 households and 5294 people. The total land area is 110 square kilometers, with 165000 mu, including 3900 mu of cultivated land, 2400 mu of farmland and 1500 mu of soil. Yao population is 2463, accounting for 46.52%, Miao population is 5.6%, Buyi population is 2384, accounting for 45%, Shui population is 85, Han and Zhuang population is about 4%. Yao people mainly live in the four villages of Laguan, Yingpan, Gurei and dongbie, among which there are a few Miao people, such as Chaosha formation in Gurei village and BAMO formation in Buyi village. Buyi people mainly live in Gaoqiao village and Hongguang Village along the banks of Zhangjiang River. There are Miao natural villages, such as the laqing formation, Xiadong formation and Pojiu formation in Gaoqiao, the Tangshang formation in Hongguang Village and the balou formation in Gaoqiao village. The Jialin formation in Hongguang Village is mostly Shui nationality.

General situation of villages and towns

There are 11 schools, including 1 middle school, 3 primary schools, 5 teaching sites, 70 teachers, 1140 students, 246 middle school students and 894 primary school students. There was one township hospital and five village clinics. The coverage rate of rural roads is 100%.

Forest resources

There are 18715 mu of forest land, accounting for 11.8% of the total area, including 7000 mu of Cunninghamia lanceolata forest. The main forest species are pine, Liquidambar formosana, Cunninghamia lanceolata, firewood and miscellaneous trees, especially miscellaneous trees, accounting for more than 50% of the forest area. Forest products are tung oil seed, gallnut, Xianggu, Auricularia, bamboo shoots, chestnut, eucommia, etc. A certain amount of timber is sold on the market every year. The annual timber output is nearly 1500-1800 cubic meters. There are two Chinese fir forest farms with an annual timber output of nearly 600 cubic meters.

Most of the energy resources are distributed in Gaoqiao and Hongguang villages, especially Gaoqiao village, which is rich in hydropower resources. Grade 2, 3 and 4 hydropower stations have been developed successively, with an installed capacity of 4000 kW and an annual power generation capacity of more than 10.7 million kwh. Jiepai in Hongguang Village has clear mountain spring water all year round. It was developed and utilized in March 1997. Shenzhen Jubang company invested more than 1 million yuan to build Jiepai mineral water plant, which can produce 20 million bottles per month. It is popular in the markets of neighboring counties. In addition, Hongguang Village, Yingpan village and Gaoqiao village all have certain reserves of coal, but the calorific value is low (3500-4500 caloric value), which is not popular. The annual output is only about 800 tons.

The water area of the township is 1380 mu, of which the pond area is about 40 mu, and the annual fishing yield is about 2.5 tons.

Xiaoqikong, Daqikong and Yaoshan are the national tourist attractions. They are the dominant tourism resources of the township, receiving 1 million tourists annually.
