Planning Township is located in the southwest of Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, in the hinterland of the moon mountain. It is one of the 100 key poverty alleviation and development townships in the new stage of the province. The township covers an area of 262.9 square kilometers and has a population of 13584.

Planning Township is located in the southwest of Rongjiang County, in the hinterland of the moon mountain, 49 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to donglang Township and Jiajiu township of Congjiang County in the East, Guanghui township of Congjiang County in the south, Dingwei Shui Township and shuiweishui Township in the west, and Bakai town in the north.

Regional population

It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, including 89 villager groups and 96 natural villages. In March 2014, the central village was established, and 14 administrative villages were merged into four central villages, namely Jiayi village, jiuqiu village, Jialiang village and Baidi village. there are 3413 households with 13584 people in the township, including 13429 agricultural population, accounting for 98.8% of the total population, 7965 labor force, accounting for 58.6% of the total population, 4270 migrant workers, 12475 Miao population, accounting for 92% of the total population.

There are 50000 mu of primeval forest, more than 10000 mu of mature Phyllostachys pubescens, 380000 mu of forest land, more than 1.8 million cubic meters of standing trees, 85% of forest coverage, and 6824.1 mu of arable land.

In 2014, the total grain output of the township was 4990 tons, with 371 kg of grain per capita, and the annual per capita net income of farmers was 5461 yuan. Planned township is one of the 100 key poverty alleviation and development first-class townships in the new stage of the province. There are 10 first-class poor villages, 2 second-class poor villages (Jiaqu village and Baile Village), 2 non poor villages (Baiwang village and Baila Village), 1471 newly identified poor households and 5616 people.
