Geyi town is under the jurisdiction of Taijiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is located at the junction of Taijiang, Shibing, Huangping and Kaili. The township government is 37 km away from Kaili and 33 km away from the county seat, and the Zhentai tourist road passes through.

On January 14, 2016, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved to abolish the establishment of Geyi Township and set up Geyi town;
