Pogong town is in the northeast of Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County. It covers an area of 68.9 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee and 13 village committees. Pogong township was established in 1949. Fanhua township was established in 1953. In 1958, the township was withdrawn and merged into biandanshan commune of Zhenning County. In 1961, pogong and Fanhua communes were established. In 1984, pogong town and Fanhua Township were established. In 1991, Fanhua township was merged into pogong town.

This year, pogong town has intensified the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, expanded the planting area of tomatoes, eggplants, small melons and other vegetables according to local conditions, and planned to use about two years to make the green vegetable production base area of the whole town reach more than 5000 mu, so as to rebuild the scale of a broken bridge early maturing vegetable production base. in order to implement the vegetable planting project and increase farmers' income, the town organized 4 large vegetable growers to carry out experimental and demonstration planting of tomatoes last year.
