Farming township is located in the south of Meigu County, 8 kilometers away from the county. Heguluo Township in the East, wagu Township in the south, Bagu Township in the West and BAPU town in the north. Township government resident farming, 2240 meters above sea level. The rural terrain inclines from southeast to northwest. Eryinaituo mountain, close to huangmaogeng in the south, is an alpine region with the highest altitude of 3433 meters. The northern part of the mountain is the second half, with the lowest altitude of 2200 meters. It has jurisdiction over 7 villages, 37 groups, 776 households and 3697 people, including farming, Jiagu, Yise, wayijue, KAE, wanigu and galuojue. Among them, there are 3695 Yi people. The population density is 109.7 per square kilometer.
In September 2018, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas and the Ministry of Finance approved the agricultural township to carry out the demonstration construction of strong agricultural towns.
In January 1956, the township was set up, and the Township labor association was established to act as the township government. In October 1958, the Township People's Committee was established. In July 1968, the Township Reform Commission was established. On February 9, 1972, the agricultural commune was established, and the Township Reform Committee was changed into the commune reform committee. On July 12, 1981, the commune reform committee was renamed the commune management committee. In July 1984, the township system was restored and the township government was established.
On January 12, 2021, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish the farming Township and put the administrative area of the former farming Township under the jurisdiction of BAPU town. The people's Government of BAPU town is stationed at No. 2, group 5, Hepu village.
In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 906200 yuan (458000 yuan for agriculture, 40000 yuan for forestry, 3412000 yuan for animal husbandry, 67000 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of cultivated land was 5004 mu, and the total grain output was 1052000 kg. The main products are corn, potato, buckwheat, pepper and walnut. There are 766 yellow cattle, 2 Buffalo, 86 horses, 3534 pigs, 674 goats and - 3822 sheep. The township has one commercial purchasing and marketing group and one bank credit union; six rural primary schools with 254 students; one township health center with one medical staff.
