Lama Township
Lama township is a township under the jurisdiction of Huidong County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It originally belonged to Qijia and Banyi District of Huili County. Lama township was established in 1952, the commune was changed in 1972, and the township was restored in 1984.
Lama township is located in the middle of the county, 48 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 85.47 square kilometers and has a population of 7822 (2017). Hui (East) fa (Qing) highway traverses the countryside. It has jurisdiction over fengfengyan, Madian and lamazhu village committees. The main agricultural products in Lama township are potato, corn, wheat, buckwheat and rice. The territory is rich in forest resources. There are fine wool improved sheep and semi fine wool improved sheep in animal husbandry. The mineral resources include limonite.
