Gaer town
Gaer town is under the jurisdiction of Jiulong County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Gaer town is located in the northwest of the county. It covers an area of 660.54 square kilometers and has a population of 20724 (2017). It has jurisdiction over gaer and Huaqiu village committees and Tuanjie Shangjie and Tuanjie xiajie neighborhood committees. Gaer town is bounded by Tanggu Township in the north, naiqu Township in the south, xieka Township in the East, sanyanlong Township and bawolong Township in the West. It has jurisdiction over four administrative villages, namely gaer, Huaqiu, Zhari and Luomo, 13 villagers' groups, two residents' committees of Tuanjie Shangjie and Tuanjie xiajie, and 24 villagers' groups.
General situation
There are two highways going out: Ying (Kangding yingguan) Jiu (Jiulong) highway, which is 252 km away from Kangding County and connected with provincial and state highways; Jiu (Jiulong) Jiang (Mianning River estuary) highway, 205 km away from Mianning County, connects with Chengdu Kunming railway and 241 km away from Lugu station of Chengdu Kunming railway, opening up traffic congestion and improving transportation, and opening mobile phones in 1999. The town has overlapping mountains, high in the northwest, low in the southeast, and Lizi mountain in the East, extending from north to south. The town belongs to warm temperate zone, cool temperate zone, cold temperate zone, sub alpine zone and alpine zone. The annual average temperature is 8.8 ℃, the annual precipitation is 890 mm, the frost free period is 184 days, and there are 5404 mu of cultivated land, 375000 mu of forest land and 555000 mu of grassland. It mainly produces corn, potato and wheat. The main disasters are spring drought, low temperature, continuous rain, drought, late frost, snow disaster, flood, debris flow and so on. There is a temple in Linai village, which is named "rewulacong" (meaning the temple in the mountains). It is also known as Yeren temple in the Han Dynasty. It is said that when Naga dengba came down to live Buddha to build the temple, he got the help of Yeren, so it was named Yeren temple. Every holiday, people from all over the world go to worship and visit.

Chengguan Township was established in 1956; commune was changed in 1974; gaer commune was renamed in 1979; gaer township was established in 1984; and town was established in 1985.
economic development
Gaer town's agriculture mainly produces corn, potatoes and vegetables. It also produces Cordyceps, musk, Fritillaria, notopterygium, rhubarb and other traditional Chinese medicine, as well as Tricholoma matsutake.
