Siyan town is a town established in Lushan County of Sichuan Province by withdrawing townships and establishing towns. With the approval of the people's Government of Sichuan Province, Lushan County abolished Siyan Township and established Siyan Town, taking the administrative area of Siyan township as the administrative area of Siyan town.

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Siyan town as a national health township for the period of 2017-2019.
