Daishi town

Daishi town is an established town under the jurisdiction of Qianfeng District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. Daishi Town, formerly known as Daishi Town, is an old industrial town. Daishi town is located in the east of Qujiang River in Qianfeng district and the west of the middle section of Huaying Mountain. It is adjacent to Xinqiao Township in Qianfeng District in the East, Hucheng town in the west, Lushi town in Huaying City in the South and Qujiang River in the north. Daishi town is 7 kilometers away from Qianfeng district. It is 7 km to Guang'an railway station in the East, 22 km to Huaying City in the South and 70 km to Quxian County in the north. Shizhu Nanchong highway runs through the territory. Guang'an Power Plant, a large state-owned enterprise, is located 2 km to the east of daishichang town.

General situation of the town

Daishi town covers an area of 70.28 square kilometers, with a total population of 62815 in 2017. In the early Qing Dynasty, people with the surname Dai opened a shop here, hence the name. It was a Dai town in 1949, a commune in 1958, and a town in 1961. In 1992, arch bridge, Changwu and Thoreau were merged. In 1996, it was included in the national pilot small towns. In 1996, it built the Daishi development zone. The roads in the town were all built according to the county level planning. It is the largest town in Guang'an City since the reform and opening up. The town has the largest enterprise in Guang'an City, the largest thermal power plant in Sichuan Province, and 7 km from the reconstructed 350 national road to Qianfeng railway station. It is adjacent to Guang'an Economic and Technological Development Zone (national level new area), and 16 kilometers to Guang'an City. A large number of commercial houses, new bridges and old city reconstruction have been built in the cities and towns, and the urban area has expanded rapidly. Daishi town has been included in one of the urban clusters of Guang'an City with a population of one million, Qianfeng Daishi cluster (the two towns are 7 km apart, and now the factories in the industrial zone have connected the two towns). By 2015, the total population of the urban cluster is planned to be 200000, and the built-up area of Daishi Town Center (excluding industrial zone and power plant) will reach 12 square kilometers

Geography and climate

The topography of the territory gradually rises from north to South China Sea along the Qujiang River, and is distributed in the form of valley, deep hill and shallow hill with dam, mainly hills. The average altitude is about 320 meters. Fulongzhai has the highest altitude of 370 meters in the South and xinanxikou has the lowest altitude of 218 meters in the north.

The annual average temperature is 17.8 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1000 mm, and the frost free period is 310 days. It is a basin climate with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, dry summer and wet autumn, warm winter and early spring.

Liubeitan Qujiang bridge project is to build a new river crossing bridge in liubeitan reach of Qujiang River, which is 900m downstream of Hongqi chedu Wharf in Baima township (800m upstream of Suoluo township), Liujiagou in Baima Township in the West and wangjiayuanzi in Daishi town in the East. The main bridge is planned to be 140m continuous rigid frame with a total length of 616m, including 296m of main bridge and 320m of approach bridge, The bridge deck is 13.5m wide with two-way two lanes. The net width of the bridge deck is 0.25m sidewalk railing + 2.0m sidewalk + 9.0m Lane + 2.0m sidewalk + 0.25m sidewalk railing. It started in September 2012 and is planned to be completed in August 2014. The bridge is a highway bridge from Huaqiao to Daishi to Xikou, which has changed the past that Daishi town only had East-West main road.

In 1992, Daishi town was established after the district was removed and the township was merged. Daishi Town, Changwu Township, Solow Township and Arch Bridge Township under the jurisdiction of the original urban area were merged into Daishi Town, Desheng Township and Xinqiao Township were merged into Qianfeng Town, and Xinqiao Township later became an independent township. In 1994, the construction of Guang'an thermal power plant was started in Daishi town.
