Muai Town, 30 kilometers away from Junlian County, covers an area of 79.36 square kilometers. Historical evolution
In ancient times, mu'ai was a place where the Yi people lived together. The Yi people called it "mu'ai" (mu'ai: meaning second son in Yi language). Later, it was changed from "mu'ai" to "mu'ai" in Chinese.
Nanguang county was under the jurisdiction of Jimi Gaozhou in the Han Dynasty and the Tang and Song dynasties.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Gaoxian county and was the residence of Jingjing township. It was called Shanger township of Gaoxian county with Dingbian township (luomurou).
In the early years of the Republic of China, it was mu'ai district.
In 1935, it was the third district.
In 1945, mu'ai was set up in Gaoxian County, governing 14 townships.
In 1948, it was changed to muai county.
After liberation, he still entered Gaoxian county.
In 1953, it was assigned to Junlian County as the Fourth District of Junlian county (later changed to muai District).
In 1984, muai District governed muai, Jinluan and other six townships.
In 1992, the district was withdrawn and the township was established. Muai town was established in hemuai and Jinluan townships.
The town government is stationed in muaichang. From 2001 to 2003, the town governed 18 villages, 140 villager groups, 2 neighborhood committees and 14 resident groups.
In March 2004, the first and second streets of Yuanchang town were merged to build Hehua community, with four roads: Zhongxin Road, Xincun Road, Hehua road and Xinglong Road.
