Longpan town

Longpan town is located in the west of Jialing District, Nanchong City, adjacent to Xixing street in the East, Datong town in the south, Liba town in the west, Shuanggui town and Jinbao town in the north.

It covers an area of 29.33 square kilometers (2017). It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, 170 communities, 1 neighborhood committee and 5 resident groups, with a total population of 15126 people (2017) and a total cultivated area of 12783 mu. In 2001, it was listed as the pilot town of small town construction in Sichuan Province, and in 2009, it was named as "municipal health market town" by Nanchong City.

On October 29, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Nanchong to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns (streets) in 7 counties (cities, districts) including Gaoping District

Jifeng Town, lile Township and Taoyuan Township were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Longpan town. The people's Government of Longpan town was located at 68 zhengpan street.

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Longpan town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

In 1935, when the national government carried out the Baojia system, it was renamed Panlong township. On October 1, 1958, it was renamed Panlong people's commune. In 1966, it was renamed Qunying commune. In 1974, it was restored to Panlong commune. In 1982, in order to avoid the same name in the area, it was renamed Longpan township. In 1984, it was withdrawn from the township to build a town.
