Gongan Yi nationality township

Gongan Yi Township, Jinkouhe District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, is located at the foot of Xiaoliang mountain, on the Bank of Dadu River and southwest of Jinkouhe district. It is one of the only two Yi townships in Leshan City. The township covers an area of 168.23 square kilometers, governs 7 villages and 41 groups, with a total population of 5342 people (2017), including 1 pure Yi village and 17 pure Yi groups. The forest coverage rate of the township reaches 70%, and it is named as the Provincial Ecological Park area. The township is rich in forest and hydropower resources. There are 31 large and small hydropower stations, with a total installed capacity of 30000 kW, which has solved the employment of nearly 500 Yi and Han Youth in the township. The Hegong highway runs through the whole area, and all villages are connected with highways, of which 5 villages are connected with cement roads, and 85% of the groups are connected with tractor roads.

infrastructure

The township has a 22.5km long township highway, and five villages have 28 km of village highway. The Jin Gan highway under planning will run through the whole Township, just one river away from the provincial highway Jin Wu highway. The completion of the Dadu River Bridge in Xincun and the hardening of the 6.3km highway from Xincun to the township government will shorten the driving time from the township government to the district government to 15 minutes, directly connecting with the provincial highway Jinwu highway.

Resource overview

（1） Water resources: there are abundant water resources in the township, including several streams and streams. The exploitable water resources reach 30000 kW. At present, 21 cascade hydropower stations have been built, with a total installed capacity of 27000 kW. (2) land reserve resources: there are 3000 mu of land that can be developed and utilized in our Township, mainly distributed in 600 mu of Xincun, 500 mu of Xiaohe, Xiangbi, Daban and Linfeng villages, and 400 mu of Wendian village. Other scattered barren hills and slopes with an area of 50000 mu can be developed and utilized, all of which have the advantages of mild climate and sufficient electricity. (3) forest resources: there are 150000 mu of natural forest and 50000 mu of artificial forest in the township, and 20000 mu can be thinned now. (4) mineral resources: our township is rich in mineral resources, the main varieties are: lead zinc ore, pyrite, silicon ore, gypsum ore, potassium clay ore, most of which have the characteristics of high grade and large reserves, and need to be further exploited. (5) tea resources: there are 3000 mu of tea gardens with better quality in the whole township. After the implementation of returning farmland to forest, there are 3000 mu of high-quality tea and 7000 mu of ginkgo. At present, there is only one rough processing enterprise. Our township is preparing to introduce famous tea enterprises and build ginkgo tea processing plants. (6) resources of Chinese medicinal materials: Niuxi and Huanglian are famous Chinese medicinal materials in our township. At present, there are 2000 mu of them. In addition, there are 10000 mu of ginger, Atractylodes macrocephala, Eucommia ulmoides and Phellodendron amurense. (7) animal husbandry resources: more than 10000 mu of farmland has been converted to forest in our Township, and more than 8000 mu of idle land under the forest is basically concentrated into a piece. We can fully use the land under the forest to plant grass and develop animal husbandry. The people's Government of the township is implementing the south tea North grass project and making use of the advantages of our township to develop the project of raising livestock with grass.

Economic situation

In 2006, the total industrial and agricultural output value of Yi nationality township in gong'an reached 27 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 2600 yuan.
