Wuxia town

Wuxia Town, subordinate to Wushan County, Chongqing City, is located at Wuxia port of the Yangtze River and the intersection of the Yangtze River and Daning River. It reaches Liangping Township in the East, Jianping Township in the south, Quchi Township in the west, Shuanglong town and Jinping Township in the north. It is 3.5 kilometers away from the residence of Wushan County Government, with a total area of 172 square kilometers.

In 1507, a stone city was built around Wuxia town. In March 1981, Chengguan town was renamed Wuxia town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Wuxia town was 30981. As of June 2020, Wuxia town has one community and 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and its people's government is located at No. 2 Juhe street.

The main food crops in Wuxia town are wheat and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep and poultry. In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in Wuxia Town, including one above scale and 20 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

Wuxia town is named for its location at the mouth of wuxia.

Ming Zhengde two years (1507), built stone city in the territory.

In 1939, the county was named Zhonghe town. In 1945, twelve streets were named after the twelve peaks of Wushan.

On December 2, 1949, Zhonghe town was established, under the jurisdiction of Zhonghe district.

In March 1950, the former Zhonghe town was divided into Zhonghe Township and Chengguan town.

On June 18, 1951, Zhonghe town in District 1 was replaced by Zhonghe Township, and Chengguan town was added.

In March 1981, Chengguan town was renamed Wuxia town.

On July 9, 1987, Xiufeng township of Wushan County was abolished and merged into Wuxia town to set up Xiufeng office.

On March 30, 1989, Xiufeng Office of wuxia town was cancelled.

In April 1992, the suburban office was abolished and the administrative areas under the jurisdiction of Longjing Township and Zaoyang Township were assigned to Wuxia town.
