Naweng township is located in the northwest of Luocheng Mulao Autonomous County, at the south foot of Jiuwan mountain, 57 kilometers away from the county seat. It borders Huanjiang County and belongs to the alpine mountainous area. Xinxiang was established in 1984, hence its current name as the resident. The township governs 5 villager committees and 1 community, 56 natural villages and 61 villager groups, with a total population of 6322 and a total area of 168 square kilometers.

With continuous mountains, deep ditches and dense forests, naweng township is the producing area of forestry, animal husbandry, Camellia oleifera, tung oil tree, fragrant fungus, Auricularia auricula, star anise, citrus, American navel orange and hairy grape. The forest coverage rate of the township is 86%, the cultivated land area is 347 hectares, and the suitable forest area is 15722 hectares. Forestry revenue accounts for more than 60% of fiscal revenue. the township is rich in mineral resources, mainly including antimony, tin, lead, zinc, nickel, marble, granite, etc. the annual output of antimony ore is 3000 tons, and the annual output of tin ore is more than 100 tons of pure metal. It is the township of non-ferrous metals in Luocheng county. the GDP of the township is 52.537 million yuan, the fiscal revenue is 930 thousand yuan, and the per capita income of farmers is 1120 yuan. The township party committee and government put forward the "311" project of enriching the people and prospering the township and the working idea of underground excavation of "gold". From 2001 to 2005, it is planned to plant 30000 mu of star anise, 10000 mu of wild grape and 10000 mu of American navel orange. At present, Warner Mining Co., Ltd. has developed Honggang antimony mine, Shengyu copper tin mine, national tin mine, and naweng Baofa wood processing plant. Education, culture, health, science and technology and other undertakings have also made great progress.
