Lanmu township is located in the southwest of Donglan County, bordering wuzhuan in the East, Pingdong Township in Bama County in the south, Sanmenhai town in Fengshan County in the west, Simeng Township and Donglan town in the north. With an area of 255 square kilometers, the township has 11 administrative villages, 178 villager groups, 3842 farmers and 16142 people. There are Zhuang, Han, Yao and Maonan nationalities living in the township, belonging to the "old and young" of Donglan county It is one of the towns in Shishan District.

Lanmu township is known as "delicious but Lanmu rice". The cultivated land area of the township is 10463.98 mu, including 4305 mu of paddy field and 6158.98 mu of dry land. In the aspect of animal husbandry, the township party committee and government pay attention to the Nongzhan area in dashishan district and develop the local black suckling pig, local chicken and black goat breeding. The breeding projects of 16000 black suckling pigs, 28000 native chickens and 8000 goats are distributed in more than 1100 household or collective enterprises. The breeding of native chickens, black suckling pigs and black goats are the main economic sources of Nongzhan. At present, there are 2050 migrant workers in the township, including 515 long-term labor exports and 1535 short-term labor exports. The annual income of migrant labor is 3.9877 million yuan, and the annual per capita cash income of farmers is more than 1945 yuan.
