Jianqiao town

Jianqiao Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Fengshun County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwest of Fengshun County, adjacent to Fengliang town of Fengshun County in the East, Xingning City and Wuhua County in the west, Beidou town of Fengshun County in the South and Meixian District of Meizhou City in the North. It is 37 kilometers away from Fengshun County, with a total area of 94.10 square kilometers. In 2018, the registered residence of Jian Qiao town was 30807. As of June 2020, Jianqiao town has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages.

In the early Qing Dynasty, Jianqiao town was the Jianqiao fort and Huanqing fort in the third map of Wan'an capital in Zhili Prefecture. In 1993, it was renamed Jianqiao town. In the territory of 206 National Highway, Shan Kun high-speed transit, Meishan high-speed railway set up bridge station in the town.

In 2019, Jianqiao town will complete a total of 218.37 million yuan of social production, 71.05 million yuan of agricultural production and 20.37 million yuan of industrial production.

Historical evolution

In the early Qing Dynasty, Jianqiao town was the Jianqiao fort and Huanqing fort in the third map of Wan'an capital in Zhili Prefecture.

In 1738, when Fengshun County was established, it belonged to Fengshun County.

During the period of the Republic of China, Jianqiao Township and Huanqing Township belonged to the first district (Fengliang).

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to the fourth district.

In 1961, Jianqiao people's commune was set up from Fengliang people's commune.

Jianqiaowei

Jianqiaowei was built in 1640, the 13th year of Chongzhen reign of Ming Dynasty. It was founded by the patriarchal clan of Zhang. It has four doors, East, West, North and south. The whole enclosure is rectangular, surrounded by streams and ponds, and the houses in the enclosure are built around the walls. It is a typical Hakka residential complex, commonly known as "boat shaped enclosure".
