History of construction

In the winter of 1950, Baokou belonged to the 21st District of Huiyang county.

In 1958, Baoxi commune was established.

In 1963, it was incorporated into gaotan commune.

In 1977, Baokou commune was established from gaotan commune.

In 1983, the society was abolished and divided into districts.

In the winter of 1986, the district was withdrawn and the township was built.

In April 2006, the original Mashan and Baokou towns were merged into Baokou town.
