Changlai town is the southernmost town of Lechang City, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. It is 6 kilometers away from Lechang City in the northwest. Lechang east station of Wuhan Guangzhou high speed railway is located in this town. The town was established in December 1949 and was once called District, township, district office and people's commune. It has been a town since 1987, covering an area of 116.5 square kilometers (2017). It is connected with langtian town in the East, Lecheng office in the northwest and Ruyuan County in the south. The topography is high in the West and low in the East. The town has 12 village committees, 47 village groups and 52 natural villages, with 5717 households and a population of 21495 (2017).

Historical evolution

In Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, Lingkou township was changed to Nanxiang in the middle of Qing Dynasty. In the period of the Republic of China, it was divided into three districts of Lechang county. It was liberated on October 19, 1949, and established the second district government in 1950. In 1982, changlai was changed to its current name, and in January 1987, it was changed to changlai town.
