Yuzhu Street

Yuzhu street is located in the west of Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It covers Lixiang road in the East, Shenyong River in the west, Pearl River in the South and Guangdong Pearl River Rare Earth Co., Ltd. in the north.

Jurisdiction area

The administrative area is 9.11 square kilometers, with 700 mu of cultivated land and 1120 mu of mountain forest land.

Origin of fish beads

Yuzhu street was developed from Yuzhu market. Yuzhu market was built about 100 years ago. Because there is a Yushan (now known as Qishan, now Huangpu Port Authority signal station) in the east of the market, Yushan extends to the end of the Pearl River, which is called "Yuzhu".

Yuzhu is a famous market for thousands of years. It was once known as "Donghai Yuzhu", one of the Eight Sights of Yangcheng in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Historical evolution

In 1952, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's government, Yuzhu market was designated as Huangpu District of Guangzhou city.

In 1953, when Huangpu was first built, Yuzhu used to build a town. In 1956, it was abolished and merged into Huangpu street.

After the third construction of Huangpu District, in order to strengthen the administration of Yuzhu District, the preparatory group for Yuzhu street was established on October 5, 1985 with the approval of Guangzhou municipal government.

In January 1986, Yuzhu sub district office was established by the decision of Huangpu District People's government.
