Gezhuping town

Gezhuping town is located in the south of Xupu County, bordering longhui County. The town covers an area of 106 square kilometers, 15.5 kilometers long from north to South and 13 kilometers wide from east to west, with an altitude of 289-1479 meters. Three rivers pass through the town, and two of them meet in the center of the town.

Shanbei Huayao terrace is located in gezhuping Town, Xupu County. It is distributed in the high mountains at the north foot of Xuefeng mountain. The altitude ranges from more than 500 meters to more than 1500 meters, with a total of more than 1300 levels and more than 3000 mu. It is one of the highest terraces in China. Shanbei Huayao terraces were cultivated in the Northern Song Dynasty and developed in the Southern Song, yuan and Ming Dynasties. It has a history of more than 1000 years. The main scenic spots are concentrated in the surrounding areas of Shanbei. The local Huayao are the main pioneers of terraces, and still retain a strong Huayao folk custom and unique terraced rice culture. it is not convenient to go to the hillside terraces and Huayao terraces. it takes about two hours from the south bus station in the county town to dongfengqiao station in Longtan town to gezhuping town; it takes three hours or three and a half hours from the south bus station in the county town to get to gezhuping town; then it takes about 40 minutes to rent a van or motorcycle to drive to Huayao village in Shanbei. by the end of the year, Xupu South Station of Shanghai Kunming high speed railway will be in operation, and it will only take about half an hour from the South Station of Xupu high speed railway in beidouxi township to gezhuping town.
