Tao Wei Town, Yongzhou Yao Autonomous County, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of Jiang Hua Yao Autonomous County, East and two Cha River Township, adjacent to the South and the river intersection, North and Dashiqiao Township, West and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Hezhou Autonomous County of Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County Xinhua Township, adjacent to the town people's Government in Tao Wei village, an area of 106.11 square kilometers, registered residence population of 35141 people (2018). History of construction

In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC), Emperor Wudi of the Western Han Dynasty set up Fengcheng County, which belongs to Cangwu County of Jiaozhou. The county is governed by Shenping City, which is Shangying village and lianshanjiao natural village in today's Taowei town.

Wu Huangwu five years of the Three Kingdoms (226 years), belong to Jingzhou.

In 1950, Taowei township was established.

In 1958, it belonged to Hekou people's commune.

In 1961, Taowei people's commune was established.

In 1984, Taowei township was restored.

In 1986, the township was set up.

In 1995, Shangyou township was merged into Taowei town.

Taowei town has national highway 207 running through the north and south of the town, with a total length of 11 km, Taoda highway from Taowei to Dashankou Caoling reservoir with a total length of 7.2 km, and Mahan highway from Laifu matousi natural village to hanchong village with a total length of 5.5 km. All administrative villages have built Village cement roads. The Hunan section of Taoxin highway from Taowei to Xinhua Township, Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been completed and opened to traffic.

Taowei town is mainly inhabited by Yao people in Wuzhou, with Yao characteristic buildings. Every year, grand celebrations are held on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month "King Ren Festival" and the 16th lunar month "King Pan Festival". Every festival, villages dance folk songs and dances, such as yeyangqiao, dumani, Wuzhou Yao, shangwubao Yao songs, traditional sports, wooden baseball, etc.

Taowei town has Yao family characteristic tofu snacks.

Jianghua Kucha is famous for its bitterness. It is an ancient and precious tea variety, growing in Dayaoshan.

On December 29, 2018, Taowei town was named the Sixth Batch of national demonstration areas (units) for national unity and progress by the National People's commission.
