Xinlong town

Xinlong town is located in the southeast of Xintian County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, 26 kilometers away from the city, with a total area of 42.05 square kilometers and a total population of 12815 (2017). The people's Government of Xinlong town is stationed in Longhui temple.

Evolution of organizational system

The town government was stationed in Longhui temple. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1736-1795), a Polder was set up, where materials from Xintian, Guiyang and Jiahe counties met. on November 20, 2015, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (xiangminxingfa No. 54) approved to cancel Gaoshan Township, adjust part of the administrative divisions of Xinlong Town, and merge the three organic villages of shigufeng, Dongshui and Meijia into Xinlong town.

After the adjustment of township administrative divisions, Xinlong town has 17 villages, including Qiaoting, Houqiao, dapingtou, Letang, zhangshuxia, Dongxi, Yele, Shenjiao, youtang, Shiqiao, longhuitan, shantianwan, Dianwan, Xin'an, shigufeng, Dongshui, Meijia, and one neighborhood committee of longhuisi.

The whole town belongs to hilly area with gentle slope and general altitude of 200m. Xintian River and Chongling river flow through the area, and 60% of the farmland is protected from drought and flood.
