Baishidu town

Baishidu town is located in the middle of Yizhang County, 10 kilometers away from the county, s324 provincial road across the East and West, 10 kilometers away from 107 National Highway and Beijing Zhuhai expressway. In 1999, it was listed as one of the 10 small town construction pilot towns in the whole province by the Provincial Planning Commission, in 2000, and in 2003, it was listed as the key town for the counterpart urban construction of the municipal units.

Baishidu town is located at the border of Hunan and Guangdong, east of the central part of the county, adjacent to Yangmeishan town in the East, Wuling Township in the north, Yuxi town in the west, Pingshi town and Huangpu town in Lechang City in Guangdong Province in the south. The town government is located in Jiefang Road, baishidu town. It has jurisdiction over three neighborhood committees, namely datangxia, Xingxing street and Jiefang Road, and six villages, namely jinchaiping, baishidu, XINCHE, chewan, gaolongqiao and vegetable village. The total area of the town is 53.88 square kilometers (2017), with 290 hectares of cultivated land and 11888 people (2017). On the Bank of zhangshui river opposite the mountain, there is a village named Jiangbian. In the past, there was a ferry. In the village, there was a salt port. The upper and lower shops moored here, so it was called baishidu. Baishidu town is an old town with perfect infrastructure. It was established in 1957, changed its name to Hongyan town in 1966, and restored its original name in 1982. It has always been an old industrial town, an important traffic town and a famous cultural town. It is a key town and a demonstration town for the construction of small towns. In 1999, it was listed as one of the 10 pilot towns for the construction of small towns in the whole province by the Provincial Planning Commission. In 2000, it was listed as one of the 10 pilot towns in the whole city. In 2003, it was listed as a key town for the construction of counterpart towns of municipal units. In 2012, it was listed as the third batch of pilot towns of national development and reform, characteristic towns of Hunan Province, and demonstration towns of Chenzhou City during the 12th Five Year Plan. Geological basis

Yizhang red bed basin mainly refers to baishidu basin. It is the same tectonic basin with Linwu basin and Pingshi basin in geotectonics. It belongs to the southern margin of South China block and Nanling geosynclinal fold belt of South China geosyncline system. During the Yanshanian movement, the basins were separated by the difference of rise and fall in the area. The Carboniferous limestone was exposed in the middle, which divided the red bed basins into small basins. Qianlishan granite body is located in the northeast, Qitianling in the northwest, Jiufengshan in the East, Xianghualing in the West and Mangshan in the south. The whole basin is like a horseshoe and open to the southeast. The rivers originating from the mountains converge into Wushui. It flows through various basins and flows into Beijiang River from the southeast of the basin. Typical Danxia landform is developed on both sides of Wushui River and its tributaries.
