Zhuocao Township

Zhuocao township (Zhuo township) is located in the northernmost part of Shaodong City, adjacent to Xinshao, Shuangfeng and Lianyuan. It belongs to karst landform, with drought and less rain all year round and serious rocky desertification. Covering an area of 47.74 square kilometers (2017), it has jurisdiction over 17 administrative villages with a population of 18949 (2017). It is said that Kangxi imperial doctor came here to collect medicine and gave it a good name. The township has a long history of planting Chinese herbal medicine, known as "Xiang Chinese medicine township". Yejiping village, a typical former site of Hunan Agricultural xuedazhai, a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province, has successively built yejiping spirit exhibition hall and Shaoyang Institute for hard work and entrepreneurship in the new era. It is the party spirit education base for Party members and cadres in Shaoyang City, and is known as "Southern Dazhai".

Evolution of organizational system

In 1950, it was zhuocao township (Zhuo township) and Luoshuiyan Township, belonging to Lianqiao district. Zhuocao people's commune was established in 1958, and the township was established in 1984, belonging to Lianqiao district. In 1995, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the township was listed separately.

On May 10, 2016, with the approval of the people's Government of Shaodong county, zhuocao township was merged and adjusted from 29 villages to 17 villages. Namely, the long stream village, the wild chicken village, the Qunli village, the Yan Quan village, the wooden mouth dam village, the Hetun Ping Village, the dietong village, the Ma Tang Village, the upper village, the Dachong village, the Wutong village, the Eagle Eagle village, the shiping village, the Yao village, the Cross Village, the tan Shu Village, and the Jin pen village. The township government is stationed in Shangzuo village.

Zhuocao township is located in the northeast of Shaodong county, 30 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Shuangfeng in the East, Xinshao in the west, Lianyuan in the north and Lianqiao in the south. Convenient transportation, 15 kilometers away from G60 Shanghai Kunming expressway, eight old highway S226 passing through.

Characteristic industry

Based on the traditional Chinese medicine industry, the planting area of traditional Chinese medicine in the township is 28000 mu, with more than 60 varieties and more than 20 large-scale cultivation. It is a genuine agricultural characteristic industry cluster of traditional Chinese medicine in central Hunan. It has mainly built 1500 mu of peony Paeonia root, Wutong village 1000 mu medicinal materials demonstration base, Yao village 500 mu, Fructus evodiae, Fructus aurantii, 500 mu, and yellow flower base. Special fruit is subsidiary, mainly including Wutong village 400 mu yellow peach base, wild chicken Ping village 200 mu kiwifruit base.

Peony flower base

Located in the Haruki Wutong Mountain of Wutong, the area of 1500 mu, it is a demonstration base with planting, sightseeing and tourism. It belongs to the agricultural characteristic industrial gathering area of Xiang Di medicinal herbs in central Hunan. "Han Xiangyun sleeps drunk in Peony", and April is the best viewing season every year.

Yejiping terrace

in the 1960s and 1970s, Zhou Nanshan, then Secretary of the Party branch of the brigade, led the masses to rely on themselves, work hard, carry forward the spirit of Yugong's moving mountains, open stone mountains and build grain fields, rewriting the history of the whole village's relying on nature for food. In 1970, yejiping was rated as the advanced model of agricultural learning Dazhai in Hunan Province. Now it is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province. In October 2016, yejiping spirit exhibition hall was built as the cadre learning and education base of Shaodong county. In October 2018, yejiping Shaoyang workshop for hard work and entrepreneurship in the new era was built as the party spirit education base for Party members and cadres in Shaoyang City.

Xiashan Park

Located in Dacong village, zhuocao Township, there are ancient trees, mountain streams, strange stones, etc.

Zhupo mountain

It is located in the southeast of Shiping village, Yaojia village and Shizi village of zhuocao township. It is a big mountain lying in Shaodong, Shuangfeng and Lianyuan. The highest altitude is 681 meters. The forest is luxuriant and the vegetation is rich. The ecological public welfare forest in our Township reaches 4000 mu and the forest volume reaches 12000 cubic meters.

Luoshuiyan reservoir

Located in Qunli village, Caocao Township, it is not only a flood control irrigation reservoir, but also a drinking water source. Small type I has a total storage capacity of 4.23 million cubic meters and a dam height of 31.5 meters. There are about 5000 meters of main canals and 4000 mu of irrigation area. In 2018, a new waterworks was expanded to ensure the safe drinking water of the whole township.
