Zhurong Street

Zhurong street, a street under the jurisdiction of Nanyue District, Hengyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the central city of Nanyue, with an administrative area of 6.7 square kilometers, starting from Hengshan Road in the south, East Ring Road in the East, West Ring Road in the West and Jinsha Road in the north. By the end of 2011, the total population of zhurong street was 21200.

It originally belonged to Nanyue Town, Nanyue District. In June 2001, Hengyue village of Nanyue town was transformed into a community, which was divided into zhurong street. As of June 2020, zhurong street has four communities under its jurisdiction.

In 2011, the total revenue of zhurong street was 3.83 million yuan.

History of construction

Zhurong street was originally Nanyue Town, Nanyue District.

In May 1997, the residents' committees of Chengdong, Yuenan, Chengxi and Yuebei were separated from Nanyue Town, and zhurong street was established. In the same year, the four communities of Chengdong, Chengxi, Yuenan and Yuebei were renamed Zhusheng, Baiyun, Duxiu and Yuemiao communities in turn.

In June 2001, Hengyue village of Nanyue town was transformed into a community, which was divided into zhurong street.

As of June 2020, zhurong street has four communities under its jurisdiction: Yuemiao community, Zhusheng community, Yingbin community and Hengyue community. The sub district office is located at No. 26, Yunfeng Road, Yingbin community.

Zhurong street is named because it is located under zhurong peak, the main peak of Hengshan Mountain.

famous scenery

Nanyue temple is located at the foot of CHIDI peak in Hengshan Mountain and the north end of the ancient town. It was built in Sui Dynasty. It is an ancient architectural complex integrating national sacrifice, folk pilgrimage, Taoist temples and Buddhist temples. It is one of the five major Yue temples in China. Located in the north and facing south, the temple is composed of nine entrances and four courtyards, covering an area of about 120000 square meters. It is now the largest and most complete ancient architectural complex in southern China. There are eight Taoist temples in the East and Eight Temples in the West. Now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in China.

Zhusheng temple is located in the east of Nanyue ancient town. It was built in the early years of Tang Tianbao (743). It was created by Maituo monk Chengyuan and is named mituotai. Now it is Nanyue Buddhist activity center and a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
