Bachelor Street

Bachelor street, subordinate to Yuelu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of Yuelu District, covering an area of 42.28 square kilometers. It is surrounded by Yuelu Mountain, Meixi lake, Yanghu Wetland Park and Dawang mountain tourist resort.

Under the jurisdiction of Xueshi street, there are 3 villages, 7 communities and 129 Village (resident) groups. There are 25 units in the street and 4 colleges and universities. At present, there are about 40000 permanent residents and 100000 floating population. The street area is about 42.28 square kilometers,

The origin of the name

Bachelor street was named after a "Bachelor bridge" in the district. The bridge existed before the revolution of 1911. It was originally a private bridge of the local Guo family. It was built with two pieces of stone. It was in disrepair for a long time, and one piece of stone collapsed in half. There is a bachelor named Liu outside Liuyang, Changsha. He takes a horse sedan chair carried by two people to visit relatives in Lianhua town. When he comes to the Guo family's private bridge, a sedan chair driver steps empty and gets stuck between two stone slabs. After Liu got out of the sedan chair, he immediately took the money to have the bridge repaired. Since then, this bridge has been called the bachelor bridge.

Evolution of organizational system

Xueshi street, formerly known as Xueshi Township, belonged to Xueshi Township in 1951 and Pingtang people's commune in 1958. In 1962, it established the bachelor's commune under Pingtang district. In 1984, bachelor's commune was renamed bachelor's township. In June 1995, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, Shixue township was merged into Jiujiang Township and directly under the jurisdiction of Wangcheng County Government. On February 5, 1998, Jiujiang township was renamed Hanpu town. On June 15, 2008, Hanpu town was established from Wangcheng County to Yuelu District. On August 3, 2012, the town was replaced by Hanpu street.

On January 18, 2013, Hanpu street was divided into two streets: Bachelor's street and Hanpu's street. Under the jurisdiction of bachelor's street, there are three villages, seven communities, 25 units and four colleges.

Bachelor street now governs Lianfeng village, Xuehua village, Xuetai village, Baihe community, zebra pond community, Xuelian community, Xuean community, xueshiqiao community, Xuejin community and Xuefu community, with a total of three villages and seven communities.

Xueshi Street connects Yuelu street and Yanghu street in the East, Lianhua town in the west, Hanpu street in the south, meixihu street in the north, Pingtang street in the southwest and Leifeng street in Wangcheng District in the northwest.

The overall planning of Yuelu Nongqu Valley is 5000 mu, including 1240 mu of tianluyuan grape planting base, 700 mu of pollution-free vegetable base, 300 mu of Taxus (also known as giant panda in plants), more than 10 natural ecological reservoirs and lakes, and 10 star farms.

Yuelu science and Technology Industrial Park

Founded in 2002, it is located in the south foot of Yuelu Mountain, the core area and starting area of Changsha Dahexi pilot area, adjacent to Meixi Lake International functional area and Yanghu Headquarters Economic Zone, with superior geographical location, convenient transportation, beautiful natural environment and rich cultural heritage.

At present, 64 projects have been introduced, forming an industrial project belt represented by China railway rail and goodnight home, a high-tech industrial cluster represented by Jishan hi tech and Tianhe drilling tools, and a cultural and Creative Industrial Park represented by provincial Olympic Center and Haipu science and technology.
