At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, a market town was formed here, which was called "tingpaikou". At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed "changtangkou" according to the meaning of "long-term flow". Later, a levee was built in Yanwan to block the Laoxiang river.
