Xiqiuwan township is under the jurisdiction of Badong County. It is located in the north of Badong County, Enshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, with latitude of 31.1 ° N and longitude of 110.4 ° E. The township is named after its residence. Xiqiu Bay is surrounded by mountains in the East and West, with a dam of paddy field in the middle. It is about 1200 meters long and 60 meters wide, covering an area of more than 100 mu. This place is also called jiulongtan, because there are nine springs that flow constantly. Later, people used spring water to rebuild Qiqiu (about 5 mu) paddy field here and renamed it qiqiuwan. It is said that a Fengshui man passed by here and said that this is the place of Guixi in Kowloon, so it was named Xiqiu Bay. In 1949, it was divided into seven townships in pingyangba district and four townships in 1955. In 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of Qunli commune and in 1961, it was under the jurisdiction of pingyangba commune. In 1975, Xiqiu commune was established. In 1983, it was changed to xiqiuwan district. In 1988, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.

Old revolutionary base areas

According to records, at that time, more than 5000 people directly participated in the revolutionary activities in Xiqiu Bay, and more than 120 revolutionary martyrs were registered. Ganjiaping village is the site of three revolutionary sites, namely "the CPC baguixing County Committee", "the Soviet government of baguixing county" and "the division headquarters of the 49th division of the Red Army". Wanxian cave in Xiaolong fairy mountain used to be the place where more than 200 martyrs fought bravely.
