Wushengguan town

Wushengguan town is located in the northeast of Guangshui city. It is located under the Wushengguan pass, one of the top ten famous passes in China, which is known as the gateway of Northern Hubei. It is located in Xinyang, Henan Province in the north, Xiaochang County in the south, Dawu County in the East and Guangshui sub district office in the West. It belongs to the Dabie Mountains and is included in the national forest trail. There are two national 3A scenic spots, Heilongtan and Taoyuan village.

In August 1997, with the approval of Hubei provincial government and civil affairs department, Wushengguan town was merged with Guangshui economic development zone.

Wushengguan town has a land area of 216.57 square kilometers (in 2017), 25170 mu of arable land, 220000 mu of mountain area, 26 villages and 34260 people (in 2017). Wushengguan town is close to Jigong Mountain, a national scenic spot. ① Wushengguan

Located in the northeast of Guangshui City, Wushengguan is an important pass of Dabie Mountain at the junction of Henan and Hubei provinces. In ancient times, it belonged to one of the nine fortresses in the world. Together with Jiuli pass in the East and Pingjing pass in the west, it was called Yiyang (now Xinyang) three passes. It was once a military pass and a traffic hub in the north and south. Wushengguan, one of the ten famous passes in the world, is located in the middle of the two Gorges. The terrain is dangerous, 200 meters long and 50 meters wide. In ancient times, it was described as dangerous that "the car can't square track, the horse can't ride at the same time".

According to historical records, in order to gain the control of the key pass in the southern and Northern Dynasties, Liang and Wei once held a stalemate in the three passes and repeatedly fought for several decades. They have always been the place where the north and the South fought against each other, and they must follow the way of their teachers.

② General village

Jiangjunzhai is on the north mountain of Xiaozidian, 35 kilometers east of Guangshui city. According to the county annals, di Qingnan, a famous general of the Northern Song Dynasty, was once built here by garrison troops. This village is one of the best preserved ancient villages in the city. The structure is strong and powerful, just like a giant Panlong. It is made of large pieces of stone, about 700 meters long, 4 meters high and 3.6 meters thick. At the upper end, round holes are chiseled every 4 meters to insert the flag. On each side, there is a gate on the top of the wall.

In addition to the East path which can be circled and climbed, the rest are cliffs, especially under the East and West cliffs, there is a river winding in the southern foot of the mountain village, which shows the dangerous terrain. So far, there are still wells, ponds, pits, pedaling roads and other facilities in the village. The village controls Wushengguan in the north, looks at jiuliguan in the East, and is adjacent to beacon towers in the south. It is known as the throat of the north and the south, and has been used as a fortress for the army.

③ Heilongtan scenic spot

Heilongtan scenic spot is located in the south of Jigong Shandong Province, which is an AAA scenic spot. The birthplace of Guangshui river is 22 kilometers away from Guangshui city and 10 kilometers away from Wushengguan in the southwest. Heilongtan waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the group of waterfalls. Eighteen cascades are magnificent. Surrounded by cliffs, the waterfall falls 31 meters, the silver belt hangs high, the sound of the water is intense, roaring, heard for several miles.

Heilongtan scenic area is connected with Jigong Mountain, one of the top ten summer resorts in China.
