Development history

In 1968, the May 7th Cadre School of the central Ministry of culture was built in Xiangyang lake. More than 6000 cultural elites gather here to work, live and study. From the winter of 1968 to the spring of 1974, together with the people of Xianning, they fought day and night to reclaim more than 48000 mu of land around the lake, creating a pure natural and pollution-free green food production base. In 1972, the Ministry of culture of the CPC Central Committee handed over to the local authorities, and more than 6000 cultural celebrities left school to return to Beijing and went all over the country. In February 1975, Hubei Provincial Revolutionary Committee approved the establishment of "Hubei state-owned xiangyanghu farm". After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee, Comrade Zhao Xinchu, former Secretary of the provincial Party committee (former Vice Minister of culture, working in Xiangyang lake for two years), proposed to build a base of improved breed dairy cows in Xiangyang lake of Xianning. In May 1980, the provincial government approved the establishment of xiangyanghu dairy cattle breeding farm in Xianning, Hubei Province. In August of the same year, the State General Administration of animal husbandry approved the project. In October, the central government allocated 1 million yuan for the introduction of improved breeds of dairy cows and the construction of production infrastructure, which laid the foundation for the development of the farm.

The products are evaluated as "green food" by the Ministry of agriculture. The difference between ground water level and underground water level is 2.5m, and the soil pH value is between 6.5 and 7.5. Forage grass and crops grow very well, and forage resources are rich, which has unique conditions for the development of dairy industry.
