In Xiaoyan Town, Nanzhang County, Nanyuan highway (Nanzhang, Yuan'an) and Xiaoxiao highway (Xiaoyan, xiaozhanghe) meet in the territory. Zhanghe River, the largest river in Nanzhang, runs through the southwest. Donglin River and Macheng River originate from the north of the town and flow through the territory. It covers an area of 376.29 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 28265 (2017). Xiaoyan district was built in 1952, changed into a commune in 1975, rebuilt in 1984 and built into a town in 1987.

Longwang gorge drifting

Longwangxia river is located in Zhanghe Grand Canyon, Xiaoyan Town, Nanzhang County, 55 km away from Nanzhang county. Zhanghe Grand Canyon is a crack formed by crustal movement 70 million years ago. Longwang gorge drifting, in the 8 km river, rapids and flat as the mirror lake staggered arrangement.
