Pig iron grave town is located in the southwest of Luyi County, Laozi's hometown, 13 kilometers away from the county. The pig iron grave commune was established in 1958 and the township was changed in 1983. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages, including Fanzhuang, sugutong, dinghuaizhuang, dingdazhuang, dingqiaokou, Qiuzhuang, caomaowang, chugudui, konglou, lvzhuang, Luozhuang, pig iron tomb, Liuguan, Yulou, Huangtai temple, Helou, Anzhuang, zhanlou, dazhengzhuang and Liwan. In November 2010, with the approval of Henan provincial government, pig iron village was removed from township to town. Shang (Qiu) Shen (Qiu) highway transit, Qingshui River flows through the territory, water transport.

Historical evolution

Pig iron mound has a long history and profound cultural accumulation, which was called "pig iron irrigation" in ancient times. Now the place name pig iron mound is closely related to Laozi, the great philosopher, thinker and founder of Taoism. It is said that more than 2500 years ago, the pig iron grave was a swamp with reeds and few people. There is a demon who often injures people. When you know about it, you drive the demon to a dry well and water it with molten iron juice. Later, you are afraid that the demon will escape from the well. You water the well with iron juice to form a tomb, so you get the name pig iron irrigation. Later, you change it to pig iron grave.

Pig iron town is a typical agricultural town in Huanghuai alluvial plain with fertile land and crisscross ditches and rivers. The climate is mild, the four seasons are distinct, the five grains are complete, and the six livestock are prosperous. It is rich in wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, tobacco, sorghum, etc. it is the "provincial science and technology demonstration township", "the city's forestry production advanced township", "the county's hybrid cotton production advanced township", "the county's animal husbandry advanced unit", "the county's grain production advanced township". In recent years, the town Party committee and government adhere to the development idea of "the whole party pays attention to the economy, the key enterprises, the key investment and the core projects".
