Kafang Township

Kafang township is located in the southwest of Xinyang County, Henan Province, the famous Jiangjun County in China. It is a transitional zone from Dabie Mountains to Jianghan Plain. It borders Dawu County in Hubei Province in the West and Hong'an County in Hubei Province in the south. It is 120 km away from Wuhan and 100 km away from Xinyang. Located at the junction of Hubei and Henan provinces, it is one of the main roads between the north and the south.

Kafang township is a typical deep mountain township with a forest coverage rate of more than 95%. There are more than 20 landscapes in Kafang township. Tiantai Mountain is a strange mountain and a religious resort in Henan and Hubei. The famous "Kafang uprising" took place here, which is also the core area of the KMT's "90 mile road no smoking area".

Kafang belongs to the Huaihe River system. It is a typical deep mountain township. Every year, she invited someone to fertilize, control insects and collect chestnuts. She only cooks for the people she invited. Her income in 2006 was more than 20000 yuan. In 2007, it was a "small year" with an income of more than 6000 yuan.

When the peasants get rich, they first want to build roads and run electricity and change the production and living environment. There are only 74 people in Guoao village group of Heshan village. They are located on the mountain and carry things for generations. With the development of chestnut, the whole village strongly demands road construction. By means of reform, the villagers rented a chestnut garden and several ginkgo trees for five years, and got 250000 yuan. The whole village, young and old, took part in the battle together, and within four months, they built an 8-kilometer winding mountain road.

The township raised more than 8 million yuan and built more than 60 kilometers of village roads. The household electricity rate reached 100%. 95% of the farmers used tap water.
