Originally in Xiuwu County. In 2005, Liwan Township in Xiuwu County was put under the jurisdiction of Shanyang District. In the same year, the township division of Shanyang District was adjusted: Li Wan township was abolished, and Li Wan sub district office was set up to govern the former administrative region of Li Wan Township, and the office was located in Shenzhou road. Among them, Liwan street is entrusted to the management of high tech Zone.
