The hometown is the origin of the tribute "inner yellow silk" of the Tang Dynasty. It covers an area of 49.2 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages, 22 natural villages, 126 villager groups and 35120 people (2017). Beiliuhe village has become a well-known professional pig raising village. There are 16 secondary pig farms in the township. Beef cattle breeding in Shipan, east of the west, has begun to take shape. In 2004, 310000 poultry (mainly chickens) were sold in the same year and 600000 were on hand at the end of the year; 80000 pigs were sold in the same year and 30000 were on hand at the end of the year; 761 beef cattle were on hand at the end of the year.

There are two county-level cultural relics protection units in the territory; the Han Dynasty Tombs in Xiwei river of beiyangwu village, and the monument of Shen Quanqi's hometown in Dongshen village. Yeyang village is a traditional production area of silk "yellow silk" and was once a tribute in Tang Dynasty.
